Notes
Recorded in New York on November 15 of 1933 & originally issued on Banner 32899, Oriole 2795, Perfect 15849, Romeo 2168, british Rex 8087 (as Ed Lloyd And His Band) & polish Sirena 7892 (as Eddy Lloyd Orkiestra Taneczna (Londyn)).
The 2 recordings present on this issue were part of a session entered in the ARC files as by Adrian Rollini And His Orchestra, yet this one & all the others except Rex 8087 & Sirena 7892 were issued as Gene Kardos And His Orchestra. Adrian Rollini is readily identifiable (on vibraphone & bass saxophone), of course, but the use of 2 trumpets & a brass bass suggest that at least some (or all) of Gene Kardos's men were present (including Red Hymie, Pete Salemi, Sol Sussman, Max Goodman, Joel Shaw, Sammy Castin, Gabe Galinas, etc.), and Adrian Rollini may have merely sat in as both musician and nominal leader.
