Albert Vorne - A Leaden Day FLAC

I really enjoyed this release. I prefer the Original Mix to the M.I.K.E. Remix.

The Original Mix is a driving, thumping trance track. This track isn't filled with big dutch trance riffs, but this isn't that kind of track and that is where it's strong point lies. It has a nice rolling baseline and some clever percussion that combine very nicely. The breakdown has a single, haunting melody that is very cool, but not over the top. I can't get enough of it. I think that the Original Mix would go down well in the middle of a trance set. Love it!

The M.I.K.E. Remix is more of a peak-time uplifting trance track, and while it is a solid production, i think that the melody sounds a little cheesy. A nice strong kick helps the track along, but i think this remix overwhelms the subtle touches that sparkled in the original mix, and the sound of the track isn't particularly original or inventive.

Such a disappointment! The original mix is so dull, doesnt go anywhere at all :( and the MIKE remix is quite poor too, which is a surprise because I usually love his stuff. Don't waste your money on this one. "Indigo Sky" is much better!
