Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers - Mosaic FLAC

Wondering if there is any difference in sound quality between this European edition and the US edition that came out the same time? Discogs currently shows the European pressing as "Remastered 180gsm" but doesn't list those details in the US edition. They have the same barcode number, so surely the US edition is also remastered?

So how does the European pressing of this title (Mosaic) sound?

Opieandy - since i posted my original message i’ve bought several of these 75th Anniversary releases, some US pressings and some European. There is a marked difference in quality. The European pressings have all been on 180g and have all been very good sound quality. Unfortunately I can’t say the same for the US pressings - which have been lousy overall and on thinner vinyl. Some were “pitted”, dirty and scuffed. I believe others have had issues with US pressings being warped and pressed off centre. I’ve not experienced that though. Some play really well once cleaned up but really you shouldn’t have to be giving a brand new record 3 or 4 cleans before playing it.

Captain, it is frustrating how hard it is to determine exactly what you are buying online. I'm in the same boat. Based on Amazon reviews, it appears the US Blue Note versions are typically 120g while the European versions are 180g. However, good luck figuring out which one Amazon is selling, or even ebay sellers or other online sellers. Some Amazon reviewers reported receiving 180g versions of some Blue Note jazz albums pressed in 2014-15. Thanks to Amazon's liberal return policies, I might take a chance.
