Will never forget Alex Paterson of the "Orb" playing this in Copenhagen at the Trekroner festival in Copenhagen in 93.

Lyot Remix is a genre-defining momentum of dubby deepness. A track that came out 20 years ago quickly transformed into a timeless masterpiece.

I attended that milestone of a party as well and hearing Darren Emerson, if memory serves me right, blasting out 'Phylyps Rmx' around 4:20 in the morning was no less but life-changing. I adore the remix of 'Lyot' but 'Phylyps Rmx' is transcendence at its very core and also the core of Basic Channel's philosophy. Those much loved and well-known clattering metallic sequences which continuously penetrate every single part of the cerebral cortex and induce pure apotheosis cemented the blueprint of BC. I heard trance dj's play this track and frankly, that was totally unsurprising as Basic Channel defined a deeper realm of Trance music in 1993 and 1994.

I agree! It's beautiful! But they should have dealt with that reoccurring peak distortion i.m.h.o.Can't ignore it or get used to it too well..

What a remix of Trak! While the structure of the original is mostly intact, it's mixed less densely. This is lighter and more kinetic than the original. The sounds have a lot more space to breathe and the pacing is excellent. The sense of motion is breathless and insistent. It's easy to get lost in.
