Bernard Herrmann - Vertigo (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) FLAC

Unexpected and brilliant reissue from Varese Sarabande. This is how it should be done.

I was expecting this pressing to be mediocre, however was pleasantly surprised with it. It has great sound quality and is very quiet in regards to unwanted noise overall. A high quality pressing of this masterpiece.

Expensive but well worth the money. This is a superb sounding re-issue. Up to Varese Sarabande's usual sonic standards. They have worked their legendary restoration magic. It sounds better than their 1996 CD release, that was sourced from both stereo and mono recording sessions, and exhibited a fair amount of damage. This version of the soundtrack is the core thirty-four minute original stereo recording session done in London (further mono recordings for additional scenes had to be done in Vienna due to musicians strikes). The stereo recording is the best preserved. Definitely the best sounding version of the Vertigo soundtrack I own, and one of the best sounding soundtrack re-issues I have heard.

Can confirm my pressing I just picked up is beautifully silent too, incredible really. Highly recommend any fans of this ost pick it up.

Some occasional surface noise in quiet parts, and one or two stray pops which were eliminated after playing the record through a few times. The overall sound quality more than makes up for it. The pressing is otherwise perfect and rather heavy weight. No anti-static sleeve unfortunately.
