Notes
All Songs, words & music by Billy Joel. Originally recorded in July, 1971 at The Record Plant West, Los Angeles, CA except "Why Judy Why" and "You Look So Good To Me" which were recorded at Ultrasonic Recording Studios, Hempstead, NY. The release was erroneously sped up, and a re-release was issued in 1983 with speed corrected but with a considerable number of changes, "You Can Make Me Free" being the most extreme, being cut by nearly five minutes. Orchestration by Jimmie Haskell, particularly on "Tomorrow Is Today" and backing vocals were stripped away from numerous tracks to be replaced with new drum and drum machine tracks performed by Mike McGee and synthesizers by Al Campbell in an attempt to give the record a more updated feel.Recorded at Record Plant West, except "Why Judy Why" and "You Look So Good To Me" which were recorded at Ultrasonic Recording Studios.
