Mine is nearly perfect (which is uncommon with new pressings these days). The sound is excellent as well. Worth picking up.

There seems to be some confusion about this release. To clarify: the main double LP is the same as the 2014 Music On Vinyl reissue, which is excellent. It's probably digitally sourced but that doesn't matter as it sounds great. The 7" is exclusive to this release. The LPs are really well pressed, too; a couple of minor imperfections but nothing serious and all in all it sounds great. Well worth going for.

They just used the MOV master, which propably isn't made from the original tape but a digital source.

I do not understand anything. Is it worth buying this 2017 reissue on vinyl or not? What is the sound quality of this LP? Honestly, I like the sound of the first CDs from 1997.

I believe that Sony (or whoever owns the Dylan catalogue) loaned out the rights to Music On Vinyl for the first reissues of a lot of his albums but they've recently started rereleasing the Dylan catalogue on their own Legacy imprint using the plates that MOV made for their reissues, hence the same matrix details. Over the last couple of months they've rereleased a load of Dylan albums on Legacy and they all have the MOVLP matrix details, I have a few of them myself. How does your copy sound by the way? I need a copy of TOOM on vinyl and debating if I should go for this new one or the 2014 Music On Vinyl release. I would say go for this release as it appears to be the only one with the extra 7 inch record. The vinyl itself is exactly the same - same plates, pressed at the same plant. This release sounds great. Definitely nothing to be "irritated" about as somebody posted above.

It's not odd or fishy. Sony/Columbia and MOV share metal parts for lots of Dylan releases on vinyl.
