I couldn't agree with you more. I've been a fan of Merzbow's since I first heard him in '02. I knew what I was going to get from him. I hadn't heard of Boris until this release. So, I thought that this collaboration would be very good or very bad.

Man, is it great! Granted, one has to be a fan of Noise or Power Electronics or whatever you want to call it. If you like fuzz pedal, distortion and other guitar effects you'll probably like it, too. I've always happened to like both genres. But, it is so much than just noise for its own sake. There are traditional songs here. The fact they did it live adds to the credibility of the thing. It all reminded me of the Stooges first release or Neil Young's score for "Dead Man".

I keep finding songs in it I like. My current favorite is "Flower Sun Rain". "Black Out" is another one. "Evil Stack" "Pink" and, of course, "Feedbacker".

The title of the album says it all. But, what would you expect from the Master?

It's right up there with the Mad Professor/Massive Attack release or The Orb/Gilmour stuff.

I'm so glad I found this release.
