This is the Dutch language counterpart of The Beatles "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band". After the release of aforementioned Fab Four milestone, Boudewijn was challenged to make the first ever Dutch psychedelic pop album. Although knowledge about SPLHCB's studio tricks was very limited, an attempt was made to recreate SPLHCB's atmosphere and structure in Dutch language. It was one of the most expensive Dutch pop albums ever made.

The album opens with the title track (also a hit single) featuring sitar playing and the performance of a fictitious band is replaced by a potluck meal where everyone is welcome and Lt. Nijgh & De Groots's Blikken Blazers Band is playing the music.
Side A contains scenes during the potluck meal; it includes such tracks as "Mensen Om Me Heen" wich is indeed a fantasyful translation of "With A Little Help From My Friends", paired with the carnival sounds we also know from "Being For The Benefit Of Mr. Kite" (on this album, the man's name is obviously "Meester Prikkebeen").
Side B (translated "Garden Of Lusts") is more intimate and is about what might happen after the meal . It's merely a cantata or song cycle. It rounds off with the aforementioned "Prikkebeen" (the biggest hit of this album) that ends with a similar piano chord as "A Day In The Life".
