This album, to be titled either "A Taste Of the Country" or "Our Roots Are Country Music", was ultimately not released, even though trade adverts for the single Blue And Broken Hearted Me referred to the album, quoting catalog number FZ 38283. A second single, "Cheatin' Kind Of Love", met the same fate, although promotional copies were sent to some radio stations, and Gib & John did promo spots on several radio shows including "Air Force Country Music Time", which also circulates on a transcription record.
Musicians on the sessions included Jerry Douglas on dobro, Hoot Hester on fiddle, Earl Scruggs on banjo, Randy Scruggs on guitar, Charlie McCoy on harmonica and of course John Beland and Gib Guilbeau on guitar & vocals. A further unreleased song, a duet with Mel Tillis titled "She's Got A Honky Tonk Heart" was also recorded during these sessions.
Much later in 2001 Gib Guilbeau released a retrospective solo album, Classic Guilbeau 1968 - 1986, which contained three songs from this release, "Blue & Broken Hearted Me", "My Abandoned Heart" & "You Made A Grown Man Cry".
Copies have circulated on CDR.
