"I've long become sick of the people who get sheepish, almost apologetic, because they make industrial music. Industrial is only a punchline to me in the same way life is - it's ridiculous but I love it and I'm proud to be a part of it. Just because we don't sell millions (or, in today's terms, tens of thousands) doesn't mean it's not a viable genre and worthy of respect, and just because 'the music industry' (which continues to eat [its] asshole and shit in its own mouth) says the term is a career death sentence... well good. Fuck it. I'm not changing to placate people who don't care about what I do, and I don't need those people to release my music.
"I don't give a fuck if industrial isn't popular; industrial was never meant to be popular, and anyone who thinks differently made a big mistake trying to get in on this scene's radar. Industrial is transgressive and dirty by nature, and transgressive art can only get so big, so welcome to an exclusive little party of weirdos, freaks, and people who don't want to just hear polished music that's easy to listen to. While it's not nearly as transgressive as it once was, I'm seeing more and more artists simply not giving a shit about the clubs and simply making dark, cool shit.
"Industrial is punk to me. Industrial is a boot in the face. Industrial is primal and confrontational and sonic violence. Industrial has its own energy. Industrial is only limited by the imaginations of those destroying eardrums to it. Industrial isn't for everyone, but it's not fucking supposed to be.
"And there's no way I wouldn't want to be a part of it.
"Don't ask permission for your art. Generate chaos, and don't stop for anyone."
