More artful electrickery from Mark Gage (the East Coast eccentric who created ‘Gravitational Arch of Ten,’) including unedited versions of tracks previously released on Probe, USA, and now domestically, courtesy of Swim, the ‘desktop-publishing’ record company, with a healthy interest in contemporary sounds. (Check their ‘Immersion Remixes Vol. 1’). Here are full length versions of Gage’s material, designed to be played in their entirety, but mixed to perfection for continuous listening pleasure. Gage combines an interstellar fascination (on ‘Mars the Red Planet’ or ‘Venusian Dream Realm’ for example) with an alchemical obsession (‘Liquids + Metals’ or ‘Liquid Dimension’) to assemble highly automotive sounds that build and build into a series of magnificent crescendos. All tracks emerged from the same original sequence, so are almost improvisations upon a theme. They replicate only to implode upon themselves imminently. This is clever music that makes you feel good.
