First release of the label, Hipothetik Disaster lays the foundations of Hip Notik Records and is a snapshot of our artistic direction. We didn't look for the consensus of opinion and we didn't try to calculate our choices. All along the 18 tracks that make up the compilation, the album wavers between syncopated hip-hop rhythms and electronic bleepers. It clouds the issue, mixes different musical universes and stands up against mono-listening.
The album gathers artists coming from all around the world: France, US, Germany, Poland, Canada, Australia. They all have different artistic and cultural backgrounds. Thavius Beck, for instance, previously released an album on a fantastic vanguard label called Mush. The Canadian Ghislain Poirier released a LP on Chocolate Industries et collaborated with various artists such as Kid606 or famous New-Yorker MC Beans. The French Ra distinguished hisself by his very good first release called Raoul Loves You, dropped out by the electronica label Coredump Records. On the other hand, other artists release their very first track with Hipothetik Disaster.
