I was really surprised by knowing Dom was still producing, as I didn't watched his work since Big Bang, and turned my head to other modern Drum and Bass artists around and Hardcore Breaks. But then I got to know about his newer releases while playing around Xbox Music and listened to this that got my attention. And... Awesome as always! My favorite breakbeat producer ever couldn't go wrong. Remember to Rootz comes true in its name by bringing a Jungle tune in his style, as mentioned earlier with a Ambient intro, that made me think it would be a calm one. But then a huge timestretched well chopped amen banged, and I got in ecstasy by the amount of time I didn't listened something so strong and of top tier production and composijg quality. Freeze got me impressed because it sound like a Industry-esque track by start, but then it didn't only stayed in the style but showed how Dom sound matured within the time. He is a legend, unique style, for me the best producer ever of the genres along with Photek.

If only all releases were of this quality nowadays!

The best 12" to come off this label since the first one 001 with Hive and Gridlok. "Remember Your Rootz" begins with a sweeping atmosphere reminiscent of early 95-96 atmospheric tunes, yet you know something ominous is right around the corner with the ragga vocal snippet. The amen drops HARD with a steppy little break interwoven, as the vocal continues along with an almost prehistoric dinosaur wail in the background and a female vocal echoing every now and again. Drum programming is top notch, although I think the bassline could have done a bit more; bass is pretty prototypical Dom, which isn't a bad thing by any means, but if there was one thing that could have made the tune even better would be a little more bass work. "Freeze" kicks off immediately with serene pads as the break switches up and becomes snappier seemingly with every few bars. Short breakdown, then da bass go boom, with patterning and tone that reminds me of "Deckard's Theme." Lots of echoing delay that creates a great vibe. As the 2nd drop starts the bass switches up a little but it's not a drastic change. Both sides are fantastic, and coming off that stellar release on Metalheadz a few months prior to this one, Dom is really celebrating his 20th year producing some of the best DnB on the planet in style :)
