I played at a free party in the New Forest back in 1993. It was in a derelict bungalow and the decks were set up in the kitchen looking out of the window, with the old garden outside being the dancefloor. A messy affair it was too! Great night :) Anyway, after my set a guy came up to me and gave me a copy of his tune. I'm just going through adding my tunes to discogs at the moment and it turns out it was this. It's a white label on one side, pink label on the other, no stamps or anything. Part of the catalogue number is scratched out. I know it says 92 for the release details here, but it was definitely 93. I remember playing Tango and Fallout as well as Valley Of The Shadows! Anyway - if you were the guy and you're reading this - cheers!

That very well could have been my uncle ant b. He was half of the duo that made this EP. If I see him I'll ask him if he recalls being there.

I had the original from back in the day, and some dog stole it from my record box while I was on my honeymoon. Along with many other rarities just like it. Now you can't even buy the original, $$$ skyrocketed, who knew!

Anyone remember them being interviewed on Sunset 102 when this was out? Got it somewhere, they were on just before a live guest mix from Moggy

They played that dubplate when they guested on my Blast From Da Past show that was on 106 fm Unity Radio. Totally smashed it and kindly gave me a copy of the white label that Ant B cut up live on the show Respect!
Ddilonyne

Im surprised this vinyl had not been commented on, so I thought I would. This super rare EP in my opinion, is probably on a par with 2-X-Treme's 'X-tremity EP'. When it comes to deciding as to which is probably the best 4 Track EP to be produced from 1992, I would have to choose the 'Economix EP'. Many will disagree, but the 2 tracks 'Loop' (aka 'The Finest') & Panic just edge it in front for me. With all 4 tracks being outstanding, starting with - '5'AD' an uplifting, piano house number from start to finish. The quality of the next track, 'Loop' being another classic piano house tune, it samples a song from the 80's (which I just cant remeber the name of at the moment), and blends it in with the accompanying piano backing and energetic rhythm brilliantly. On the other side is 'Panic' which has more of a breakbeat rhythm with the scratched in samples 'Feel The Panic, Got To Have It', building the tune up until finally exploding into another uplifting piano riff, before blending everything in together with the vocal samples, deep bass line and nice breakbeat (played everywhere at the time). Finally, last but not least, 'Equake', this tune has a harder edge to it, with breakbeat again being the substance of the main rhythm, but still mixing it up with piano lines throughout. Overall, each tune stands up in its own right, and being as rare as the Dodo, its not surprising that this vinyl routinely sells for £150+. And at last, for anyone desperate for this tune but restricted by cost, it has been repressed on the original metalwork whilst also including a copy of the original artwork that accompanied the original release. An essential piece of vinyl for any Old Skool Piano House collector or DJ.
