First Down - Jaw Warfare FLAC

I picked up mine in Spillers Records Cardiff(The worlds oldest record shop).

This record means quite a lot to me, the artists was a circle of friends very close to my hometown of Folkestone Kent, the early First Down Group was based in Hythe Kent, these true local B-Boys had something to say, in my view they did it well on this record, I love the cuts on Jaw Warfare by Dj Klear and the fast flow rhymes from Aroe.Its great how this record has grown to be loved by UK Hip Hop and Britcore fans all over the world, the main reason I say this.The record was only sold by hand to record shops also people locally into the music at the time, I used to Dj Hip Hop for about 1hr at a local under 18s Disco in 1990 I was proud and honoured to play Jaw Warfare to the young hip hop crowd at the time.. i hear you, skim,always remember back in 1990, coming out of richards records in in ashford town where i lived, seeing the first down posse walking around the corner off wimpys sporting their crew logo on some fresh goose jackets!that right then was, as far as i was concerned, my first brush with celebrity, as i had only bought the 12" a few weeks before in richards. hearing "respect goes out to the people of ashford" over a dedication track was mind blowing to me as a 15 year old.my own hometown shouted out on a record!!!jaw warfare sounds "bad meaning good", as it encapsultes that diy roughness.considering it was done in a bedroom, it sounds great. still got my copy, i would NEVER sell it :)
