I think think this album is due for some reconsideration, but I am a sucker for 00s hip-hop. This is sort of a perfect example of Roc-a-Fella's production skill at the time, full of great chipmunk soul beats from Just Blaze, Kanye and Bink!, and a cast of mid 00s feature artists. Freeway himself was still honing his craft at this point, but his unique voice and passionate delivery carry this through the runtime.

Like most of Roc-a-Fella's releases cut at Masterdisk at this time, this one sounds quite poor. The levels are cut hot to the point of distortion towards the inner grooves, even with a quality stylus. Still a fun record to throw on the turntable. No idea if the later pressings would be any better, or if they are even from different metalwork.
