The original single was recorded in 1971, but not released until 1977 on Sticky Records. With the addition of the recently rediscovered original version of "I Live In Style In Maida Vale", the single has now been expanded to a "maxi single". The bonus track was recorded on the same day as "I Need You" and "Goodbye Baby". Jesse Hector later re-recorded "I Live In Style In Maida Vale" in 1974 with his group Hammersmith Gorillas.
