This is a wonderful, but strangely overlooked LP from Kim Salmon featuring STM (Warren Ellis, Andrew Entsch & Jim White) who sadly only recorded this one LP together. In my opinion the version of Obvious is Obvious is much better than Kim's earlier version with the Surrealists (on the Zero Blank flip side) Other highlights such as You Know Me Better Than That, Treachery and Reach Out find everyone in fine form, but particularly impressive is Kim's vocals, i don't think his singing has ever sounded better. Unsurprisingly, Warren Ellis shines throughout adding his special warmth and texture to the material. Most of the songs are stripped back and raw providing a lot of space for the music to breathe. Hopefully this great record will one day get a vinyl release, it certainly warrants one. I have uploaded a few youtube links for those who have not had the good fortune to hear it.
