Pretty much the most daring EP ever released on Nu Energy, containing four productions with completely different sound designs and main themes, each covered with atmosphere-inducing Psytrance intro and outro. The overwhelming diversity and unique attitude is also backed with high quality, making this one of my recent favorites in Freeform.
Unfortunately, Beyond Salvation is the one that I think stands out in the bad way. While the idea of quick alterations between grinding Psytrance riffs and dark, trance-esque melodies backed with haunting vocal sample of Sarah Wiles was a great one, the execution made these transitions drop the track's intensity way too much and it feels quite empty as a result. I guess it's just my personal taste, this track isn't bad at all, just weird-sounding.
Out of the four, Tentacles Of Love is closest to typical Hard Trance. Intense and very detailed all the way from beginning to end, the main part features variety of uplifting melodies scattered around the post-intro, exhalating breakdown and mindblowing main riff, finally leading to evil, sweeping stab riff. Quality take on the label's preferred, upfront style.
On the flip, Silicon Hell dumps everything that even remotely resembles Trance and ventures into the vile territory of Techno-fueled madness. Two dark breakdowns featuring some agressive vocal samples precede powerful acid-assisted synth assaults bent on slaughering any candy raver that comes across. No prisoners taken.
Finally, Axiomatic System could be somewhat accurately described as Psytrance-turned-Freeform. Beginning with unleashing two liquid psychedelic riffs, breaking into a short, majestic string breakdown and climaxing with yet another riff put against an unique noisework, this one is definitely my favorite of this EP - perfectly balancing the mindblowing and the hypnotizing.
