LTJ X-Perience - Moon Beat FLAC

With his debut album, Moon Beat, the LTJ X-Perience project of Luca Trevisi finds itself in jazz and deep house territory surrounded by a funky athmosphere. Although that's not entirely clear from the repetitive but darn catchy opener "Keep on Groovin' ", tracks like "Disco People" establish the right vibe. However, not all tracks are succesful. "You Got the Beat" and "Superwig" suffer from overusing vocal lines and "Sitar Madness" has a very annoying part in the middle. The better tracks are presented on the second half of the album. The lazy whistling on "Back Roads" is great, as are the synthesized strings on the delicious "No Rhyme No Reason". But the real standout is presented by the haunting title track, "Moon Beat". Unlike the other tracks, this one has a very mellow beat, building and building until the sampled violins break out impressively. Maestro Garofalo steals the show here too, with his incredible work on the keyboard. He also does an excellent job on the equally stunning "Saturday Nite Groovin' ", which is groovy and emotional at the same time. These two pearls alone make LTJ a great experience.
