Innerspace is the killer tune on this release...micro-dot pure uplifting melodic spellcaster

Innerspace drums reminds me of Daft Punk's early works. "Forget About the World", "Rollin' and Scratchin'" and Thomas Bangalter's "Outrun."
The chords also reminds me of Captivater by Jeff Mills. A MUST for any Techno DJ.

2017 and this still gives me tingles. Has stood the test of time pretty well.

Its all about "Narcotic". Innerspace is ok but nothing special. Narcotic on the other hand is crushing. Heavy 4/4 starts the track and cuts out just a little too quick if your trying to do ye olde progressive 5 minute mix so you gotta be ready for that. Once the beat kicks in again it is layered with a super phat bassline that in itself is slambonius. Over the top seeps in wispy tinglings and slight melodies that start building and crescending untill.... They just fade away leaving you with a 4/4 and crushing bass that are more on a house tip then anything untill that gets filtered down to the depths. While mucking around in the percussion in comes the super bassline. Now start filtering up the percussion up up up upppp and drop in 4/4 into super slam city. Booya!! Now just when your thinking good god this is an amazing track, Woodoo, here come all the weird tinkilings and whatnot. Awesome. Now if you start your mix while this is all going on the song pretty much drops out for about 64 bars or so and you can catch it with the kick from your next track making for a very good mix. All around amazing track. In my top 10 favs. A good place to hear this is Sasha & Digweeds "Communication" disk 2, First track. Thanks for making a crusher!!!!!

"Narcotic" is old-school Holden before the Border Community days of late. A pretty melody drifts over the top of some nice stabbing percussion (influenced by Hywel no doubt). The melody gets yanked half way through as the beat comes to a soft roll. Slowly the drums pick up speed until it's time for the swirling melody to emerge again. A classic masterpiece.

This record is a priceless jewel of electronic bliss. Narcotic is rich with rhythmic percussion, iced over with an ethereal layer of crystalized melody, a true masterpiece. Innerspace is no less amazing: solid beat, uplifting melody, excellent programming. I've learned to expect nothing less than perfection from James Holden; with this release he delivers whole heartedly.

This early Bedrock release has been one of my all-time favorite James Holden tracks. With his Mainline project, Holden creates spaced out bliss with "Innerspace" and brings you down and dirty with the flip, "Narcotic". Classic stuff.
