This package is a must-have for any die-hard (and not only) fan Mathias Grassow’s talent. It offers an exciting outlook on how this prolific musician developed his unique style, trying different genres, experimenting, improvising and then, finally, changing to drone sound he is well known for. Most of this material was not published in any other form, and original tapes were not widely distributed, so it contains a lot of material almost no one heard before. Of course, not every single track will please your ears (some improvisations even can hurt), and sometimes New Age style looks a bit unfocused and too extensive (although it is on pair in quality with what was officially released on small Aquamarin Verlag label). But we have to admit that we have a choice of 100+ tapes of sixty or ninety minutes duration, so one can definitely find tons of compositions suitable for playing more than once. Don’t miss this unique chance to dig in into history!
