Maximum Penalty - Demo EP FLAC

Four songs from Maximum Penalty's original 1989 demo. The music is classic NYHC on here in the vein of other bands on Blackout! records - think Breakdown, Uppercut and the like. But the vocals really set Maximum Penalty apart - Jim Williams has a unique and much more melodic than the typical New York style and this makes the band immediately identifiable. His style becomes much more melodic on subsequent releases but here he has a tough raw edge. It is also interesting to see how incestuous the New York scene was with bands sharing members and MP are no exception - with band members also involved in Nausea, Breakdown and Killing Time to name a few.
