DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) Pressed in France but sold and distributed in the US. - Rear of the sleeve states: "BLUE NOTE is a registered trademark of Capitol Records, Inc. ©℗ 1985 Manhattan Records, a division of Capitol Records, Inc. Manufactured for Manhattan Records and Capitol Industries/EMI Inc., by EMI France... Printed in U.S.A.". Originally came with a gold-colored obi style wrapper touting the "audiophile" quality European pressing. Included 23.5” diameter two sided circular poster. Blue Note label facsimile backed with collage of artists. See photos.#1-9 recorded on May 9, 1952 at WOR Studios, New York City. #10-15 recorded on March 6, 1954 at The Van Gelder Studio, Hackensack, New Jersey. All trasfers from analog to digital were made at 24-bit resolution. The original 12" issue of tracks #1, 2, 5, 6, 8 & 9 was Blue Note BLP 1501. The original 12" issue of tracks #3, 4 & 10-15 was Blue Note BLP 1502. #1-6 originally issued on 10" LP 5013. #10-15 originally issued on BLP 5040. Because this CD does not conform in content to the original 12" LP, we have not included the original liner notes. The original LP mixed various sessions in incomplete form.
