Right off the bat, fucking RIFFS!

Oh yes, the riff on the title track which kicks the album off is one that you feel in your bones. The mid-paced drums fit perfectly, driving the track forward, keeping the guitar in check, but never distract or detract. The vocals are just essential here. Tormented howling straight from your favorite DSBM records! Mixed perfectly, I might add. This song is so well paced and well executed that it's really an extreme sludge anthem.

The transition into Erosion is exquisite! This track is a lumbering beast. Slow and steady, vile and heavy! once again, perfect instrumentation and songwriting.

Now for White Halos. What better way to finish an album than with a 14 minute titan that takes up the entire B side? I really like the drumming on this one. Drumming in this style of music is kept simple on purpose, but shouldn't be overlooked. Perfectly in sync with the riffs here. Vocals have taken even more of a shrieking tone, and man is it good. Great instrumental passage near the middle. In fact, after this, the track becomes faster and heavy again, but remains without vocals and finishes with an ethereal ambient/noise bit.

This album is like a ship: Huge, slow, unstoppable and impressive. As doom and sludge metal should be. A must have for any fan. 9/10.
