Oh completely agree, the poppiest/crackliest new vinyl I've heard in a long time. Musically it's outstanding.

Before mentioning the vinyl itself, I must say that this album is solid. The songs, many of which are covers, are excellent, and her strong voice suits them very, very well. Especially the Jeff Buckley cover -- who even takes on a Jeff Buckley song in the first place, let alone does it incredibly well? The vinyl, however, was disappointing. Some crackles were indeed present, at times distracting (on headphones), there was a skip at one point (the first time I played it after opening it AND cleaning it), and the sound clarity was fine but nothing great. The record stuck to the inner sleeve -- never a good sign. At least it came with a CD, which will likely not skip (at least not the first time).
