Great collection of music and nice looking gold vinyl, but the repress isn't great as the sound is distorted in certain loud passages.

Nope, I have the mp3 download from Boomkat and the distortion isn't there compared to the vinyl. Its particularly bad on the first and last tracks. I like tape saturation, but dislike vinyl distortion :)

This distortion is not down to the vinyl, but the original recordings themselves, they are lifted from 1/2 inch and 2-inch tapes recorded live.

The first pressing on black vinyl has the same issue.

Simply sublime. An amazingly lucky find by Demdike Stare, Orior's "Strange Beauty" is an elaborate and enigmatic taste of long-lost cassettes found in an attic. The album is a unique near-forgotten perspective of the avant-garde periphery in the early 1980s, and is an incredibly special bit of music. The pressing itself is superb, and the art accompanying it is just as gorgeous as the music. Tip.
