Instinctively predatory is the best way I can describe this record. Its not evil, just cold. "Low Profile Darkness" doesn't bite your head off because it wants to,.. just because its gotta eat. A beautifully produced album, which stands up to time like little other Drum n bass has. Industrial in nature, this album smashes together distorted breaks, eerie sirens, polished chrome & piles of torturous bass that hits you like a sledge hammer. Very highly recommended to both industrial and D'n'B lovers.

Dark, menacing, disturbing and from start to finish, a skin crawling and mindfuckingly distorted place to be. Ah yes, this is where i like to spend my time. Usually breakcore stuff á la Venetian Snares deliveres nicely this kind of state of mind, but oh boy, Mathis Mootz aka Panacea even tops canadian madman's efforts with his debut album "Low Profile Darkness". Produced ten years ago, "Low Profile Darkness" still captures the essentially raw and primitive atmosphere but don't let the harder, bonecrushing outer surface fool you. Once you're inside and after spending some quality time with this record, i hope you can agree with me when i say that mr Mootz is a genious by producing one of the true innovative release from the era when drum and bass was still sounding fresh and good.

The hardest and most powerful drum'n'bass I've ever heard.
Noisy, industrial, dirty and raw sound attacks your brain. It's like a deafening steel explosion - fast clangy rhythms break your conscious to thousand pieces. Good choice to make it play loudly in a walkman.
Panacea with their early works are geniuses of hard/dark drum'n'bass. Must have!
