Saw them in Seattle, early '80s; excellent live and I actually liked Dave Thomas' vocals.

For me PERE UBU was and still is the perfect soundtrack to the stories of Philip K. Dick.Funny enough I started reading Dick ("Ubik", what a masterpiece!), when I bought"Dub Housing". Dick and PERE UBU are both very strange in a familiar context.

Tip for you from a fellow Dickian: try reading What The Dead Men Say whilst listening to Automatic Writing by Robert Ashley. Beautifully perfect, and fucking terrifying.

Gaeuney

An otherwise masterful album a bit tarnished by David Thomas' awful vocals. Though his vocals do manage to somehow add to the surreal atmosphere the album has.
