Justin Strauss: "This record was my main inspiration for wanting to do remixes. It had a massive affect on me. It still does - And would add François’s mixes he was doing at Prelude at the time, and Larry’s work as major inspirations.
As someone who has remixed a few records, I always find the debate about “the original is better...” or vice versa, funny. One doesn’t cancel the other one out. They both are there, and you can play whichever works for you. I love the original as well. But this remix was one of the first I heard with “additional production” and not just working with the original tracks. And that, I found very inspired. To me, it elevated remixing to a different level. And I know some people don’t like that and want it pure. I’m just not one of them."

Daniel Wang: " I love Shep's remix of "Love Comes Quickly" on this EP too! (He added tinkly arpeggios to tickle the ears.)
The "West End Girls" remix does some really groovy stuff with the Fairlight and hiccup-ish vocal samples; I've developed a huge nostalgia/ fondness for the Bobby Orlando original of "West End Girls" :-)
(I heard it fresh on the radio in San Jose, California in 1986!)
The PSB album version and Shep's version are all MIDI synced and A=440Hz pitch correct, whereas the Bobby O version sounds kind of "wrong".. it's a bit out of tune, the mixdown isn't as smooth, the 808 cowbells and loud handclaps are almost awkward.. but these "wrong" elements give it a raw directness and personality (similar to Flirts "PASSION") which made it sonically very memorable and hard to duplicate. As I get older, I really think about how "wrong sounds right" in a lot of pop, disco, even jazz. And the funny thing is, you can program the "right" but it's difficult to really fake the "wrong."
