Great Old School E.P. from Rhythmatic.
Bit of a departure from their previous releases as this focus's more on the "Hardcore" / "Rave" sound of the early 90's & more obvious, vs. the earlier ground breaking releases.
All tracks are solid & sample fueled tunes and there's something for most people that are into the 90's sound. I would highly recommend checking out Rhythmatics other releases.

To reiterate Hyperreal I remember when this came out in 92 and I thought it was dated if this had come out mid 91 it would have made more sense but for 92 it was slightly too obvious & predictable with lots of overdone samples & stabs. Not saying its crap but dated considering what was around at the same time but I have a feeling that the tracks had been made a fair while before its release....I hope.
So put it on, kick back close your eyes an pretend its 1991.

Pretty good 8 track EP. Nothing ground-breaking but each track offers something a bit different. On most tracks there's huge use of well known samples ("give yourself to me" "pump up the bass" etc) and formulaic beats and synth stabs of the era - or possibly even earlier, which gives tracks such as Vinyl Scare a retro feel in places. Vinyl Energy was the title track originally I think, however Ragga Rave and Nu-Groove sound the sweetest now. Give Yourself To Me, with it's well known vocal sample and equally predictable 16 bar progression, sounds so homemade now it'll make you smile. At the time though, it rocked!
