As much as I resist the idea of using a review as if it were a message on a message board, if you missed out on this record because it sold out so fast...there are some copies for sale at a discounted price because of minor sleeve damage on 12k's bandcamp page currently. If you missed out and can live with a superficial imperfection (c'mon man, you can do it!) in the energetic fabric that surrounds you, why not head on over there and make America great again?

"Field" starts out with sounds akin to an old hardware AI booting up in to activity, after an extended period of sleep. It unfolds in yawning draws of tone, completing its memory check into the track "Caudex". Which by the way, sounds slower on the vinyl, then its digital counterpart. Seriously, it sounds about 8% slower. Very interesting. This LP transforms and develops in a subtle sonic way, but the sound stage is wide, and the production is clean. Each track is a nuanced experience of cinematic naissance. It is truly a jumping off from where Dan left off with his first 4 LP''s. This is a great thing, if you are a long time fan of his sound. It is worth noting that this artist has always excelled at creating sonic compositions that work from multifaceted listening perspectives. This Lp is no different, in fact, it is a wonderful experience that should be listened to many times in order to fully grasp the scope of its craftsmenship. Bravo, and thank you - this is music.

Couldn't disagree more. The previous album was a breakthrough, and this feels more like a step back in my opinion. But to each his own...

Personally playing the vinyl at 45 sounds too pitched up for me, I've settled on 33 pitched up +8, though I did get a handwritten note with my copy saying it should be played at 45.

https://twitter.com/12k_label/status/963483338936868866I see this has already been addressed but yeah, wow, I never knew it could be this hard to get records manufactured.

I wonder what the "correct" speed is actually ended to be? :)

I edited the submission, but the record needs to be played at 45 RPM in order to sound correct.

A nice combination of oval-esque click beats, glitch soundscapes and an over all sci-fi feeling. Def brings me back to the Mille Plateaux days. Excellent!
