Another early release courtesy of Croatia's Mario Kalendaric. Despite the fact his present whereabouts are mainly unknown to everybody, his "Accelerator EP" still delivers the goods, in an old school fashion!
The opener rolls at mid tempo and has juicy acid synth stabs throughout as trancey melodies freely float in and out out of the track.
The pace is radically picked up with Atom VZO. Fast drum kicks with energetic and crazy acid leads all over. Basically, it is like a more intense version of the previous track. It is still loaded with proper trance melodies, but the whole thing just begs to scream at the dance floors.
The title track continues down the same route, with less emphasis on the melody work though. Sharp and menacing acid stabs pierce right through stomping percussion and some demented spiralling sound effects. This is the hardest track here. Kind of repetitive, but also quite dark and pumping. Same as the previous track - dance floor friendly!
The last one is more of that acidic hard trance goodness very reminiscent of the second track. Great and effective, yet pretty simple manipulation of 303s, with a driving beat, making this the best possible way to close an already very dance friendly EP!
Overall, for fans of old school acid, with a heavy accent on the club heads, you should not be without this. Even though it is pretty hard to get away with any of these tracks during any modern set, they would properly tear the roof off at any retro gig! Pure nostalgia.
