Tagteam Terror have just polished off their latest EP, a double A side called You Only/Kimble. Both tracks are dancefloor weapons, ready to be deployed. Not only them though! With remixes from Keith and Supabeatz, The Phantom's Revenge, Tobitob and Justin Faust, there's a lot of bullets in this clip.
You Only is a jacking house number that simultaneously has you lounging back, sipping on a fruity cocktail and spazzing out on the dancefloor. A craftily soulful sample, shaken and drizzled over a no nonsense house beat, this track is a solid, safe bet for any record spinner.
Keith and Supabeatz pour a can of energy drink over the record, speeding it up and giving it their own trademark flavour before dropping an electro bassline that sounds like they short circuited the whole club. Frenetic, funky, and freaking fantastic. 'Nuff said.
The Phantom's Revenge remix takes the original sample and throws it into the blender, coming up with some short-loop magic that will get your house lovers into a trance. Employing a club-shattering high hat that won't give up, play this to shake some buns.
Kimble, the second A side, is a two-halved track that lures you in with foot-tickling keyboard stabs before bringing in an 80's funk lead line that will bring the sun out. Dripping with summer, this track is exactly the kind of music people should be playing at festivals. And if tickling keyboard stabs are exclusively your thing, Tobitob cut an edit just to your liking. Pumpin.
Justin Faust weighs in on the remix, giving Kimble a classy, outer space house feel, but retaining the energy of the original, bringing in rich synths and melodies. This track has joy written all over it.
The Phantom Revenge wasn't finished, oh no. Like a true phantom, he comes back to haunt You Only a second time, pulling the tempo down under before slapping a serious slowstep beat upside the speakers.
