This album finally being released comes off as so bittersweet to me. In some alternative universe in which the stars aligned and the album released in 1967, I think it would've been better than Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. While I'm so grateful that we live in a world in which we got to see what could've been, it pains me to think how much more was left on the scrapping board due to ambition, technological limits, etc. Things such as the musical suite that would've been based on the elements, a more thoroughly fleshed out story of going from Plymouth Rock to Hawaii. I think the album is fantastic, if not a bit esoteric at times. If it had been polished and released, it would've been The Beach Boys best album, surpassing Pet Sounds. But alas, it still is an amazing record to listen to front to back.

On my box with this barcode (5099902765822) there is a sticker that says »Printed in U.S.A/Made in Mexico«. Could this mean that the CD's are manufactured in Mexico or does this statement only concern box fabrication?Anyway, one of the finest made boxes I have ever seen. And the Music inside is a must for every Beach Boys fan. Especially those who prefer the music era from 1966.
