"World World World I sit in my room Imagine the future" - Allen Ginsberg reciting his poem "Europe! Europe!"

Wow well happy to find this !! i have age of slack and techno playtime from years ago and then came on to discogs and thought i would give this a bash. I had this on so many tapes when i was young free and off my tits with no consequence, never spent £50 faster on a nightshift. Total classy classic!

All time smoothness and well worth the money for the original! Masterpiece. For Virtual alone!

I've pretty much heard everything Black Dog (including their various other guises) have made over the years. But nothing imho will ever surpass 'Virtual'. Yes, it might even sound a little dated to the current die-hard IDM fan compared to their later offerings, but it was well ahead of its time back then. Especially compared to other techno/deep house/breakbeat crossovers coming out from the UK and Europe. The production is relatively simple and the arrangement is spot on. The sound effects are well chosen, out there, unusual and full of subtle, slightly disturbed undertones and sinister emotion. But completely infectious. A thoroughly enjoyable journey which takes a cool 10minutes of playtime. Equally great as a starter or end of a long set.

Virtual is an incredible Track, one of the best I heard so far. So much variations, but no too much indeed. 5 am or at the end of the set, it fits perfectly.

I bought two copies of this the day it was released, I could of swore it was released in 1990 and not 1989 ? Maybe time is messing with my mind.
Drelalen
I agree with the 1990 release date, a tune that will always be with me

With out doubt (in my mind anyway) the greatest musical masterpiece from the Black dog, perfect Latino breaks converge with tight percussion. Swirling rhythms that just don’t stop for no one, four superfluous mixes which all in all makes this the dog’s Bol*$@ks.

A legendary release from the Black Dog - I cained "Virtual" for years. The track was a ten minute journey with big build ups and futuristic ambient interludes - and then when that syncopated kicks comes in, the track just keeps frantically building and building. There has not been many tracks since that has come close to "Virtual". It was Techno, Breaks and Ambience all thrown into the mix and has to go down as one of the precursors to that english big beat/breaks sound.

The immortal line in this track "i'm sitting in my room imagining the future" pretty much sums it up. This record was way ahead of its time in terms of the sound and production. This record sure does take you on a journey where you can simply lose yourself for a whole 10 minutes before having to wipe the needle. Awesome.

A track that can only be described as a journey. An almost timeless piece of music. I will live with this track forever...imagine the future.
