The title song "Noah" was written by Bob Seger himself and is a classic Seger song that was a single in the summer of 1969 and should have been as big a hit as "Ramblin' Gamblin' Man". Why it wasn't, nobody knows... Seger now disavows this album and will not rerelease it (along with "Brand New Morning" - Any CDs of these 2 are "counterfiet"), but a lot of people and his fans think it is great. Was also issued on Capitol 8-Track Stereo Cartridge Tape and Stereo Cassette Tape.

Bit of an odd album. Seger was seriously contemplating getting out of the music business by '69 as he had laboured for several years... scoring some regional success but no national impact.

This was the kind of 'make or break' album at the time. They drafted in some guy called Tom Neme and gave him equal billing on the LP - as though he was going to take over the band when Seger went back to college (which he did, briefly).
Neme wrote some of the songs on this album and sang too - but the thing is - his stuff is no good. The only good stuff is the Seger material - most notably the last song on the album - Death Row - which is a story-telling song and just about as good as anything Seger ever wrote. The production is good too with the slamming cell door sound fx and the anguished scream of Segers's epic vocal. Worth getting for this one track really. Inervenus Eyes is the other standout track.
