Notes
Transcription of liner notes:
Place "Flamingo Favorites" on your turntable, flick the switch and be prepared to either relax or dance to one of the greatest singing groups in the music business today.
Here is a group whose versatility is without peer. They're at home as much with a ballad as they are with an up-tempo tune. Each member is capable of handling the lead voice chores as well as the other. In addition to their great singing ability, the boys have acquired enviable skill as instrumentalists. Now you will hear Terry Johnson on guitar, Zeke Carey on bass, Tommy Hunt on the ivories and Nate Nelson on the skins. Choreographer for the group is Paul Wilson. Jacob Carey carries out many of the managerial tasks.
You'll hear arrangements that move with the fury of a forest fire, yet, at the same time are relaxed, informal and spontaneous. The Flamingos interpret in their own inimitable way today's musical taste with their own brand of styling so individual that no doubt will remain why this group has made it big on records and in person with today's audiences.
Outstanding in this album is their rendition of "Besame Mucho." Encompassed herein is one of the most unusual arrangements of this old standard with the blending voices giving it a sound that could never be equalled.
In short, you'll find in the grooves of Flamingo Favorites some of the really exciting things that can happen when human voices combine to interpret a song. Not since records, movies and TV pitched the custom of group singing around the family piano in to the ash can, has harmonizing, sounded so easy, or like such fun.
