This was a "compilation" in the sense that all Jamaican LPs in the 60's compiled dance floor hits along with filler, but this LP was titled "Greatest Hits" as a marketing ploy. It was basically the Maytals recent singles and some songs that were yet to be released, and never released as singles, so couldn't be hits. Leslie Kong had also done this with the Wailers' second LP "The Best of the Wailers" The "Roots Reggae-The Jamaican Albums" 6 CD box set lists this LP as one of the Maytals seven Jamaican LPs prior to their more wide stream success.
