The Redundant Rocker - Heart FLAC

A fun and adventurous album that combines a wide range of music styles, on the whole it reminds me of the more experimental albums released on Ian Boddy's label DiN, such as 'Dervish'. There are elements of Krautrock, chill-out, classic electronica and jazz. Overall though, the music has a contemporary and futuristic feel to it rather than a nostalgic one.The amazing thing is how well all these musical elements are integrated, how smoothly they alternate and morph into each other. The result is music that keeps you hooked and interested. 'Heart' is fascinating in it's complexity yet accessible enough to not be confusing or confronting. So it should appeal both to people who want fun and enjoyable background music, as well as those who seek to surround themselves within a weave of technical intricacy. Finding this balance is not an easy achievement, yet Wöstheinrich has managed it splendidly.
