I've always been extremely gratified whenever I've purchased a bootleg release from The Godfather Records. I was a little hesitant about getting into any Rolling Stones bootlegs, because I figured it would be 1) overwhelming and 2) I wasn't sure if labels I've been so happy with would have covered anything from decades ago. I don't know if The Godfather Records Has, in fact, been around that long (I did try researching that, but came up empty). However, I went with figuring they'd purchased the masters & would "clean up" with soundboard engineering. Whichever is the case, it is an Extremely high quality release with Excellent Sound!!! & it is an earlier one (1970)! 2 Shows: Super set-lists, including some songs (which I was particularly looking for) along with the "biggie's". I've gotten this & Methodical Slow Burn in Honolulu also on The Godfather Records from 1973 (I'll leave review separate review) and 2-disc "The Voodoo Kiss" on Kiss The Stone from the Voodoo Lounge tour in New Orleans 1994 (will leave separate review on that, as well). It's THE ROLLING STONES...you can't go wrong!!! (At least not sticking with both The Godfather Records as well as Kiss The Stone). Any earlier recordings, or other labels, you may be getting into territory that's monoral (not stereo) & could be audience-recorded & not soundboard. I'm fussy with sound quality & that's why I've stuck with familiar labels. West German Roll Over contains 2 Phenominal live early-years' shows, where you get songs not found on later-years' live recordings, i.e. "Sympathy For The Devil" (which you'd think would be on all & not so), "Stray Cat Blues" (great early song & one reason I purchased this particular CD), a fantastic version of "Love in Vain" & "Midnight Ramber" a particular dazzler!! So, now that there is a review; jump on it!! You won't be sorry! I highly recommend "West German Roll Over"!!
