These guys always had great songs, but they never played with as much ferocity as they did on their debut 45. Manic, frightening, like the Stooges on speed and gallons of black coffee: this was the sound of the Weirdos in Year Zero, and it's glorious. If you're a fan, then of course I'm not telling you anything you don't already know...but anyone who equates Green Day and Blink 182 with punk rock needs to hear this record. When the music mattered, when the bands who were sincere were playing as if their lives depended on it, *this* is how it sounded.
