I really love Ma Ya Ya and I always have to watch out that I don't play it too often. Swamp Thing has a killer bassline, but the accordeon simply ruins the entire track and makes it unplayable for me.

Ma-Ya-Ya continues in the line of Gospel-Funk UR releases, this time with a Cajun focus. The beat is broken, but still very mixable and, of course, dance-able. The B-side is a raw and dirty electro track whose bassline will haunt you. There was also a 7" of Ma-ya-ya, that has an otherwise unreleased track on the B-side called Soul Power. It may be worth having both releases for the B-sides, if you aren't familiar with the 7".

Simple fellow

This is UR's nasty down south Louisiana style funk-techno workout. "Ma Ya Ya" utilizes a funky breakbeat and repetitive vocal chant that really brings out the voodoo in this cut. "Swamp Thing" is a dirty low slung electro number, growling and thrashing like an irritated crocodile down on the bayou. Overall an excellent and distinctive 12".
