Bad tune! I can still remember when I first heard it played out , at a rave called Ibiza in Vauxhall arches when it first came out back in the day - people went mental ❤️

Yeah there was also an artical on Urban Shakedown production techniques in CU AMIGA and written by Tony horgan who had a written a lot of articles on Octamed and gave out free samples on coverdisks. I still have the magazines. It was possible to sync 2 Amiga 500 with 2 x external midi interfaces. And have a master and slave version of Octamed running 4 channels on each. This was the preferred method over 8 channels on A1200. A lot of the gabber producers where doing this same thing for years. Neophyte being one i can think of.Amiga is still a highly under rated computer, it was the shit back in the 90s for music and graphics (Deluxe Paint anyone?) and also games. All the pc lovers back then missed out.

Yeah we used Amiga 500 + then 1200s from 92-98 for production & our many live PAs, one trick was also to create a fake 'patched stereo' by using 1xRCA->2xRCA splitter plugs & then crossing them over into the mixer to get past the Amiga's 4 channel L/R, L/R channel output so that the audio would come out in actual stereo. Force Mass Motion (who we also played with live a coupla times) also used this method.

Some Justice was actually written on two Amigas. To synchronise them they had a pattern of clicks on each Amiga which looped before the tracks started. They basically kept starting the tracks until the clicks were in sync. That's how they got 8 track audio before the Amiga 1200 came out and without using programs such as OctaMED which further degraded the 8-bit sound quality when using more than the Amiga's 4 hardware sound channels.

DJ-SafecrackerI think the 2 amigas were sync'd using midiThey may well have used MIDI Sync for other tracks but at this point they were definitely using the click pattern method to synchronise.

I think the 2 amigas were sync'd using midi, I know thats how I used to do it.I also think the bassline is created with OctaMED's built in synth generator. The tone is so low, that you have to apply pitch bend to hear it.I still have 2 amigas and I have a Some Justice remix in OctaMED. The final sound created from programming what is basically a '4 track' is quite awesome.

You might be thinking of Amiga Format (August 1992) with Claudio Guissani (Terra Firma) and Gavin "Aphrodite" King. Mickey Finn always gets more credit than deserved. Personally, the only one of them I rate is Guissani.

after hearing about that i talked the author of MED into adding a master/slave midi sync for 2 amigas. I wonder if Urban Shakedown ever used that feature later ;)

There is actually an article in Future Music magazine from around 1991/2 where Mickey Finn and Gavin Aphrodite spill the beans on this production method. You can clearly hear the aliasing of the Amigas 8 bit sound all over these tunes!

Written on an Amiga!!! Unbelievable that it got to the top 40. A very mininmal record. "Run's House" break with a few stabs and a sample of Ce Ce Rogers "Someday".
