Great compilation of bands from Long Island from the 80's. Great cross section of the "Long Island Rovk Scene" and what was called the Long Island sound at the time.

I am happy I got my copy from a band member from Intruder and was happy to learn of other bands and how the band Ghengis Kahn never got band credit. Basically they sent a tape in but notes as to who was on what and what their names were, compilers made a judgement call and adddi the song.

Also, interesting to note, the opening track by Nevill Shute was never meant to be the submitted track. I met the lead singer then girl friend (if I remember correctly ex, but she spoke highly of the band) and she said that the band was fighting with their manager and he submitted their weakest song as retaliation for getting rid of him.

To be truthful, the song now would be considered ahead of it's time being flighty but then it was not.

The rest ranges from good to really good (in my head great but that just maybe the nostalgia kicking in). It is one of the few compilations that when I play people really like. I've heard other compilations like this, some do great jobs where others fail miserably.

I gave this LP four stars because I could not give three and a half. Musically, to me, it is a solid 4 but the way some people handed their tapes bin, the fidelity can vary and that is why I subtract a half star, it can get annoying.
