It’s worth pointing out that the two best tracks on here, credited on the sleeve as ‘Fuka Vincente – Tempura’ Soul and ‘Tali Bong – Koto Mata’, are both actually from this 1973 album: ‘Rinsyoe Kida, Akira Ishikawa & His Count Buffalos ‎– Tsugaru Jongara Bushi - Drum & Tsugaru Jamisen’ (https://www.discogs.com/Rinsyoe-Kida-Akira-Ishikawa-His-Count-Buffalos-Tsugaru-Jongara-Bushi-Drum-Tsugaru-Jamisen/master/1041959). They’re the first (津軽じょんがら節 / Tsugaru Jyunkara Section) and fourth (秋田おばこ / Akita Tobacco) tracks respectively. My Japanese isn’t too great, so the English titles are courtesy of Google Translate. It’s also worth pointing out that not only do none of the tracks here seem to actually be Vietnamese, there doesn’t even appear to be any evidence that servicemen in Vietnam would ever have heard any of the songs. Instead, the album seems to consist of tracks recorded by South-East Asian artists while they were outside of the region. Admittedly, that isn’t quite as catchy a title as ‘Vietnam Wartime Funky Club Hits’. So John Cadman were a Filipino trio who recorded in Australia – John Cadman was the name of the Sydney boat restaurant at which they were the house band. Funkgus were a Singaporean prog-funk act who recorded in the UK. The Happy Dolls were a South Korean girl group who recorded in Canada. It’s still worth listening to – it just isn’t quite everything it makes itself out to be.

Thanks for the ID. Another one: Track 10 is not by "Madam Laos In House Showgirl Band" as credited, it's from a Japanese record: https://www.discogs.com/Yasunobu-Matsuura-Akira-Miyazawa-Tadayuki-Harada-Minoru-Akiyama-Victor-Orchestra-LOVE/release/3640980 . A4 "カミン・ホーム・ベイビー Comin' Home Baby" by "モダン・ジャズ・オーケストラ". It has also been featured on Dusty Fingers 20.
