there is 2 cassette versions. 1 has the it's Christmas rap and the other does not. There is a way to tell which one does have and doesn't have. I will leave that up to you. Don't pay more than 20 bucks for this tape. more than that and your stupid.

Interesting statement about being stupid... when using "your" instead of "you´re". ;)

This album is an excellent compilation and "bird's-eye" view into the Skyywalker camp in the early days of the Miami/Ghetto Bass movement. One thing that always baffled me is that the cassette version that I have does not contain the Skyywalker Allstars "It's Christmas" even though it's listed on the liner (but strangely not on the cassette itself). Also, the track listing shown here reflects tracks that aren't on the compilation either such as "Look & Listen" by KJ & Kooley C and "We Don't Play" by MC Shy D. This could have just been a simple oversight/typo, but there are only a total of 12 tracks on the Bass Waves Compilation album.

The first cassette issue of Bass Waves in 1987 did feature "It's Christmas", the 1989 reissue did not. It undoubtedly was removed for copyright reasons since it sampled old Christmas carols (which probably weren't cleared). In this regard, the compilation did originally have 13 tracks. As shown in the photos posted, the original 1987 cassette (with "It's Christmas) is the white shell and the reissue is the clear one. Also, "Look & Listen" & "We Don't Play" are listed here at Discogs because they are heard in the megamixes (but not presented individually like the others). The tracklisting of the megamixes may also be incomplete but I haven't taken the time to sort that.My 1987 cassette has a couple unfortunate dropouts (during "We Want Some P...." & "Ghetto Bass"). I have no idea if this is only on my copy, but this problem may have been corrected in the 1989 reissue.
