On april 20th, 1996 one of the most legendary parties ever took place in the FEC-building in Leeuwarden. To get in, your ticket was a CD-single. This actually was the second time that ID&T did this (Thunderdome '93 also had an entrance-CD).Back then, this was a great way to get psyched for the party, because we didn't have the internet as we know it today. So no downloading some tracks or mixes, but only the original CD's, and for this party, your ticket.On the CD are two tracks. One is an intro with the deep, dark voice of Colin Scott, who also did the spoken text on several House Party mixes and the Thunderdome 1-5 Megamix. He introduces the party in a way that you immediately want to get the party started!The second track is a mix without a tracklist. It's only 13:34 minutes and contains 3 tracks:- DJ Tails & DJ Noizer - Drum & Basz (Remix)- DJ Waxweazle Meets DJ Delirium - Inside Da Rythm- Tony Salmonelli - Class Axion Take 1It's a decent mix, credited to 3 Steps Ahead, DJ Weirdo & The Prophet, although they're not mentioned on the disc or cover.If you own this, like I do, it may well be your most valuable CD (not only in money, but in sentimental value also).

A great idea of ID&T making a CD-Single entrance ticket for Thunderdome 1996. Unfortunatly this had it's bad side also. The rear side of the innersleeve needed to be torn off at entrance to ensure the organisation that the entrance ticket could not be used twice. When you went in line at Thunderdome 1996 you first had to go to one of the several entrance gates were after you'd be searched for drugs, weapons or other illegal stuff. If you have passed the gates you had an small area on which you could wait for your friends to get out of the line. When proceeding the guys of the organisation, all dressed in green polo's tear off the innerside of your single and threw that part in a bin which was quite overloaded by the time I got there. People also had to carry the CD Single with them all night long at a 8 our lasting party. It wasn't easy to prevent the jewelcase from breaking or scratching and in some curcomstances you or someone else treat your cd on a drink. Some people had even thrown their CD away, probably felt it as being a burdon on their party spirit. All in all these cd's experienced a ruff start which did not contribute to it's condition.

Still have mine here, WITH the innerside attached (and my name filled in on the dotted line) ... I have been careful with it during the party and now, 20 years later, I'm still happy that I did :)
