curtismayfield, an excellent and accurate review... the bassline and lyrics to my favorite song on the LP, 'Tone Our Skin', are seriously dreader than dread!! And the start of that song, is pure madness with the unique keyboard lead and Brissett's laugh, followed by those almost haunting keyboard strikes --- it all works so well together.I also favor the songs 'Babylon De Pon Fire', 'Freedom Fighters' & 'Nah Nah, Nah'... really nice chord changes and Brissett fits the words nicely into the music.Bassie Devon Bradshaw is a HUGE part of the successful sound of this LP... his rolling basslines are amazing.Like you Curtis, I bought this LP when no one seemed to want it and it grew on me rather quickly.... sometimes a slight gamble pays off and this LP was/is worth it --- primarily thanks to the creative and grinding Bradshaw basslines. Ah boom shot 4 sure !!!

This album has grown on me ... A LOT! Originally purchased for cheap out of a pile of early to mid 90's VP records that mostly sounded uninspired (I always ~want~ to like Tony Metro, Morgan Heritage, etc), this one is a gem.Amazing heavy dub groove underlying everything reminiscent of Mad Professor's Ariwa sound but a bit darker, more propulsive, and rhythmic. The bass (bass synth methinks) is the same throughout all songs and what a bass sound it is, growling and treacherous! Nice understated drum programming and Annette's vocals are a perfect melodic match, each song flows into the next in a shining example of what digital dancehall albums used to sound like.
